Halloween Sparks!

In a few weeks, Elsa & Spiderman will knock on thousands of doors across the country. They won't be  saving the world from eternal winter or countless villains (shhh don't tell them). Their one task will be to fill up their bags with hoards of candy before Mom & Dad call it quits.

Our Halloween picks are just a few products we love whether you're having a spooky shindig or sprucing up your porch for superheros & princesses.

Enjoy!

At Home With Sarah: Fall Decor

Ye-Hello!

The cool air is slowly finding it's way into the southern atmosphere, leaves are changing & with each breeze slowly falling from the trees as if dancing to a divine melody.

This week we are at home with Sarah, our co-founder and her own fall decor ideas. Typically she pulls out her box of decorations boasting hues of orange, red, brown & yellow. But, this year she wanted something fresh & new. Something simple yet charming.

Yellow has been finding it's way into her home over the past year. Little pops here & there give this neutral loving gal glimpses of the unexpected.

Yellow: fresh & fall all wrapped up in one color!

Here's just a few ways she used it in her fall decor.

An antique entry table used as a catch all gets spruced up with a bright bouquet of yellow leaves.

Tip: Preserved leaves are often wrinkled & folded up when you buy them. A quick fix is to iron them out. Be sure you are working with real leaves & be patient. This does take some time but well worth it!

A grapevine pumpkin was spruced up with bendable rope. We love finding ways to re-purpose existing items! An antique letter holder keeps mail & catalogs organized & smaller items neatly organized.

This antique mantle is Sarah's favorite place to decorate for the holidays. Built in the 1920's, it's the perfect place for her aqua Ball jar collection as well.

The ceramic owl was a thrift store find originally from Z Gallerie. Sarah collected the brass taper holders for her wedding & uses them often in her home decor.

A side table gets dolled up with some dried billy balls & a white pumpkin placed on a stack of vintage books. Billy balls are a great way to add a fun touch to anything from decor to tables capes & can be found at your local wholesale florist.

We still love apothecary jars for their versatility. Sarah simply filled hers with dried yellow leaves, added a funky gold accessory & threw in a couple pumpkins on her buffet.

Lastly, glass shadow boxes are everywhere right now & can be filled with anything your heart desires. Sarah usually puts one of her baby succulents in this one but opted for some bright moss & a small pumpkin for fall. Placed on a vintage handmade doily it makes itself at home on her rustic coffee table.

We hope you're feeling inspired!

At Home With Kamin : Hudson's Nursery

Our homes provide an outlet for us to experiment & try new ideas. Our At Home With series is a peak into our lives & creativity.

Up first is Kamin's son, Hudson's, nursery.

Even though he is almost 15 months old she is still continuously updating and tweaking, and lets be honest...it will probably never be completely finished! There are always new ideas!

Kamin knew from the moment she found out she was having a boy that she wanted a more masculine nursery than most. It evolved into eclectic, rustic and vintage over time as we collected new and family heirloom pieces for the space.

The Jenny Lind crib was the first piece she inherited. With mixed bedding from The Land of Nod and Restoration Hardware it set the scene for the entire room. We loved the idea of mixing high and low end bedding and since crib sheets don't always stay super clean, it's the perfect way to get the
most out of your budget without compromising style.

Although the idea of layering a rug on carpet isn't a new one, it's an amazing one. Having a rug helps anchor the room and add another element of texture.

Another fun idea was using vintage golf clubs we picked up on a trip to Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta instead of traditional curtains rods.

Kamin's husband was especially excited about this idea!

We are never afraid to mix patterns & textures to get the perfect mix. Old kilim pillows, cow hide, chevron, stripes; this room has it all & it works!

Kamin opted for a deep club chair rather than a rocker and has loved the idea of being able to keep it in the room as Hudson grew.

It's the perfect spot for lots of snuggles and reading!

An important part of decorating Hudson's space was to incorporate personal touches and family heirlooms. This beautiful vintage dresser was in Kamin's mother's nursery and the tiny highchair is another family heirloom that's over 100 years old.

She made sure not to leave out Hudson's daddy in the mix, and added lots of details from his childhood like his old baseball glove and baseballs.

There is also a plaster hand-print from his first few days in elementary school.

This roadside find drafting table (yes, K's dad literally found it on the side of the road in a trash pile!) made for an unexpected place for a changing table. An old metal toolbox makes a catch all spot for diapers, wipes and other items needed within reach.

We love looking for the unexpected and using items in a new way! Not everything has to be perfectly matched and cookie cutter. Making your space, your space is what's most important and bringing in those pieces you love is what makes it unique. So many things in Hudson's nursery have a story and a past, and now they have a future!
