Birmingham Craft Night w/ Malinda Kay

Usually when we see Malinda we are either doting over her precious daughter or picking glitter from her hair. Like us, she is a woman of many hats with great affection for Jesus, life & people. For several years she has wanted to start Birmingham Craft Night where women and girls could come together, share life & figure out how to make their biggest Pinterest dreams come to life.

When she asked Spark & Arrow to help her do some photography for her first upcoming craft night we didn't hesitate. Malinda also has a huge heart for missions & taking the Gospel of Jesus to the world. In June she will help lead a mission trip to Costa Rica with her church and wanted a fun and creative way to help raise funds. With Valentine's Day fast approaching she came up with this DIY tote & keychain combo!

Below are a few pics Malinda shared with us. We loved seeing all the unique designs and even more so smiles on these ladies faces.

If you are interested in booking a Craft Night with Malinda e-mail her at Malindakay@ymail.com! She has so many great ideas & can create a unique craft for you & your friends to enjoy.

Sunshine Sparks!

It has been dreary here in Birmingham for what seems like ages. We're having some vitamin D withdrawals & it is not pretty so we figured we would pull together some things that are and juice up on some sunshine!

This batch of picks features a lovely gold foil print from Auburn based Scarlet & Gold. Let's stop and give them some fist bumps for pursuing their dreams & inspiring others to live out their faith!

Another favorite of this bunch is an umbrella in a water bottle from local boutique, Festivity. After splashing through those puddles just stick your wet umbrella back in this cheery canteen and avoid soaked floorboards & seats.
Enjoy the sunshine! - Spark & Arrow

Room Style: Semi-Themed Boy's Room

There is nothing better than a repeat client! This one loved the work we did on her youngest son's room that she asked us to come back & re-style her oldest son's room. He loves Starwars, science & sports and we had a blast incorporating it all into a semi-themed semi-vintage space for him to enjoy.

Here's the room before...

And here it is after a Spark & Arrow makeover!

We anchored an old mantle to the wall to create a unique headboard perfect for displaying trophies & decor. By mixing textures & patterns we were able to create a cohesive look without it feeling too "match matchy".

One of our signature gallery walls brought our client's collection of unique art together.

Storage in kids rooms is always an issue. You need something that is functional & safe yet aesthetically pleasing. To store her son's collection of books we used an old locker that can easily hide any clutter yet is still easily accessible to him. Even when opened it works as a decor piece in the room!

Video game consoles can often be tricky to work into a room. The key is to keep it simple. Store games & extra accessories away in a cabinet or dresser while only leaving out necessities. Another trick to organizing is wall mounted book shelves which we also used as action figure storage!

For kid's rooms we love using unexpected items for storage such as a glass jar filled with plastic bugs and an old crate for toys. Much more appealing than plastic bins.

We would love to help you with your styling needs & offer a free consultation! Room styling is more cost effective than interior design and gives your home a pulled together, cohesive look!

Until next time! - Spark & Arrow

Steele : Maternity : Montevallo, AL

We can honestly say that we truly, truly love photographing maternity sessions. There is something so amazing seeing such pure joy in the eyes of soon-to-be parents, and the amount of anticipation, love, and happiness is overwhelming at times.

Congrats Stephanie and Patrick, we can't wait to capture baby girl Steele's birth for you in a few short weeks!

Senior Portratis : Adam : Winter 2015

Who says you have to wait until the spring for senior portraits? Not us!

We met up with Adam a few weeks ago and had a blast running around our small town shooting. Adam was a champ, despite the cold and we love how his winter senior portraits turned out!

Let us know if you need portraits of your Senior, we would love to photograph them for you!
